Transform Stream
In Water Breakthrough Challenge 5, individual entries to the Transform Stream can bid for funding from £2 to £10 million*.
Stage 1 entries opened on 9 September 2024 at 12 noon (BST) and must be submitted online via Submittable, no later than 30 September 2024 at 12 noon (BST).
This year we have streamlined the Stage 1 entry form for the Transform stream, so the entry period is shorter, and entrants aren’t required to book or record a pitch during this stage. For Breakthrough 5, we will be inviting entrants to the Stage 1 Transform Stream to a live Q&A with assessors after Stage 1 has closed, to discuss their entry.
Entrants should ensure they have read and understood the following materials, which can be accessed via the Key Materials section on the Transform page:
- Transform Stream Entrant Handbook
- Transform Stream Entry Drafting Form
- Transform Entry Template
- Transform Template Winner’s Agreement
- Template Collaboration Agreement
- Terms & conditions
- Privacy policy
- FAQs
The Entry Drafting Form can be used to help you to develop and collaborate on your answers ahead of completing the online form.
We will open Stage 2 to invited entries at 12 noon (GMT) on 18 November 2024 and will close for entries at 12 noon (GMT) on 13 January 2024. Entries to Stage 2 must register for a pitch recording slot (Zoom call) no later than 5pm (BST) on Friday 20 December 2024.
If you wish to work on more than one draft on the online entry form during the entry period, please contact [email protected] for assistance.
*In exceptional circumstances, where an entry will deliver impact across the water sector in England and Wales, we are open to accepting entries requesting more than £10 million. We ask that this impact be demonstrated by having at least ten water companies in England and Wales as entry partners.
Submitting an entry requesting greater than £10 million is subject to the prior approval of Ofwat. It was necessary to have emailed [email protected] by Monday 16 September to have requested approval to bid for above £10 million.
