If you are not a water company, the Fund is an opportunity to reach out to one or more water companies to explore the possibility of working together on an entry. Although our competitions so far have only been open to entries from water companies in England and Wales, we are keeping our eligibility criteria under review, and are exploring ways to create more opportunities for innovators within and outside the water sector in future competitions.
We have compiled a list of companies that you can contact today to explore new partnership opportunities.
You can also register your interest in future support to find a partner.

If you’re new to the water sector, you may wish to read the water sector’s Innovation Strategy 2050. Published in 2020 by a coalition of all 19 UK water and wastewater companies, this document sets out the water sector’s vision for collectively delivering transformative innovation.
One of the core ideas of the innovation strategy was to create a ‘centre of excellence’ for water sector innovation. After being awarded funding in our first innovation competition, this centre became Spring in July 2021.
Throughout 2022, Spring will be launching a range of services to help connect, integrate and augment existing innovation excellence within and outside the water sector. You can read more about Spring’s services, including their innovation platform, on their website.
If you had questions about these services, or the Innovation Strategy and how your innovation could play a part, you can email Spring directly.
