Find your innovation partner

January 4, 2021

We are hoping to receive a wide range of entries to the Innovation in Water Challenge that will showcase a diverse mix of innovative ways of working and solutions.  The lead applicant needs to be one of the 17 licensed regional water and wastewater companies or new entrant water and wastewater companies (NAVs) in England and Wales.  We encourage both water companies and third parties to actively establish new partnerships to enter the challenge.

Water companies can submit as many entries into the challenge as they like; providing each entry is for a different initiative. It is unlikely, however, that funding will be awarded to more than three entries with the same lead applicant.

Form your partnerships today – for water companies

If you are a water company, now is the time to explore opportunities for new partnerships and consortia, including by signalling opportunities for partnerships on your website and social media for example. You can partner with anyone you wish – including supply chain partners, new start-ups, SMEs, academia, local authorities, water companies outside of England and Wales, and water retailers. Please note that it’s your responsibility to carry out any checks and due diligence on partners.

Form your partnerships today – for anyone else

If you are not a water company, you should see this as an opportunity to reach out to one or more water companies to explore the possibility of working together on an entry. We will keep our eligibility criteria under review for future rounds of the fund.

We will be hosting partnership brokerage sessions to support the development of new partnerships.

The partnership brokerage sessions will be held on:

11 January 2021 4 pm (GMT)
18 January 2021 12 noon (GMT)
25 January 2021 4pm (GMT)

A recording of these sessions is available on the Find a Partner page.
