Development of verifiable freshwater analytics framework

Amount awarded: £50,000

Led by: Ecosulis Limited

Currently there is no verifiable freshwater analytics framework for assisting water companies and land-managers with developing restoration proposals to allow them to baseline and track change in ecosystem functioning of a river and its catchment. We propose developing an analytical framework that uses data ranging from satellite data, citizen-science to bespoke studies, to baseline the current ecological status and help forecast interventions to promote the ecological uplift of the reach, holding or catchment. The framework will ideally be suitable to evidence and demonstrate the effectiveness of interventions or verify investments in the restoration of ecosystem functioning and increasing resource quality.
